Route description

The first stop of this full day trip is the pearl of the Adriatic Sea, the Blue Cave, the most attractive landmark of the island of Biševo.
The cave has two openings; one is smaller, the one artificially pierced through which a boat can pass, while the other opening is much wider, on the south side of the cave below sea level. Sunlight penetrates through this underwater opening, which, passing through the water, first refracts, and then bounces off the bottom of the cave. This leads to a specific phenomenon of blue and silver shades of the sea, which merge into each other, depending on the time of day and the angle of refraction of light inside the cave. We will also reveal a little secret to you. Although bathing inside the cave is forbidden, place your palms in the sea and watch them take on the color of luminous silver. To cut a long story short, some beauties cannot be described, they can only be experienced.
To experience this unforgettable reflection of the clear sea, and get acquainted with this natural monument from Srima, Vodice, Šibenik or Tribunj, we need about 2 hours.

The next stop is the island of Vis and the town of Komiza, only 5NM away from the Blue Cave. Komiza is best known for its fishermen. On the sunny side of the island, well sheltered from the cold northern winds since it is located at the foot of the hill Hum, it is also known as one of the sunniest places on the Adriatic with 2600 hours of sunshine. The Mediterranean architecture of Komiža is adorned with stone houses, narrow streets and beautiful beaches. On the waterfront around the port there is always a hat, souvenirs, numerous cafes and restaurants where you can dine with other tourists and locals.

We move on, but we stay on Vis. We go to Stiniva Bay, the most beautiful beach in Europe. This pristine pearl with crystal clear sea, white sand and impressive cliffs in the background, was created by the collapse of a cave whose vaults covered today’s Stiniva. The remains of this vault have been turned into a shore, and on the edges of the cliffs we can find stalactites that formed when the cave. The beach is made of larger pebbles, and the sea is extremely calm. Some world famous films were shot in this ideal secluded cove.

Budikovac is an unavoidable and last address if we are already going to Vis. Peace, centuries-old pines, crickets and blue. It is an attractive refuge for many boaters because its lagoon is naturally protected from the winds by the islet of Mali Budikovac and the Sanak cliffs. On the island there is a beautiful large pebble beach, Budikovac – which is located in the mentioned lagoon.

Pack up and get started, and let one of your days be reserved for – these fascinating scenes.
